VOLTAGE PICTURES ANNOUNCES WORLDWIDE SALES ON HORROR FEATURE “APPARITION” STARRING MENA SUVARI AND KEVIN POLLAK

LOS ANGELES, CA (November 2, 2018) — Voltage Pictures will launch worldwide sales on director Waymon Boone’s (My Daddy’s in Heaven) new horror feature Apparition starring BAFTA nominee Mena Suvari (The Murder of Nicole Brown SimpsonAmerican Beauty), Kevin Pollak (The Front RunnerThe Usual Suspects) and newcomer Annalisa Cochrane (YouTube Premium’s “Cobra Kai”) at the American Film Market. The script is written by Mark S. Allen, Howard Burd, Waymon Boone and Rob Rose (Stretch).

The feature, currently in post-production, is produced by Howard Burd (Mother’s DayCriminal Activities) and Mark S. Allen (BallbusterNotorious Nick) whose projects have won multiple Emmy Awards. Babacar Diene, Vice President of Acquisitions and Development at Voltage Pictures sourced the project and negotiated the deal with Tiffany Boyle of Ramo Law.

Apparition follows a group of young people who are guided by an APP that connects living with the dead.  They find themselves at an abandoned castle, a place with a horrific history tied to each of them, for reasons they’ll soon discover.

“Elevated horrors like Apparition are yielding huge returns at the box-office, so we’re thrilled to bring this project to our buyers as part of our robust and diverse AFM slate,” said Alexandra Cocean, Executive Vice President of International Sales at Voltage Pictures. “Waymon Boone masterfully leads the fiercely talented Mena Suvari and Kevin Pollak through this terrifying and hugely satisfying horror gem.”

BAFTA nominated actress Mena Suvari’s credits include Sam Mendes’ five-time Academy Award-winning American Beauty, cult-classic coming of age comedy American Pie and Voltage Pictures’ upcoming biopic The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson. In addition to her feature work, Suvari also appears in some of television’s biggest series including FX’s American Horror Story and the Paramount Network’s American Woman.

American actor Kevin Pollak is known for his roles in the two-time Academy Award-winning film The Usual Suspects opposite Benicio Del Toro, Gabriel Byrne and Stephen Baldwin, Rob Reiner’s four-time Academy Award-nominated A Few Good Men opposite Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson and Demi Moore and The Front Runner opposite Hugh Jackman, Vera Farmiga and J.K. Simmons. Pollak can currently be seen in Amazon’s Emmy Award-winning series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”.
