FilmSnobbery was started in 2008 as a blog about movies. It featured an audio podcast with a friend which soon morphed into a video podcast. Time went by, and that video podcast morphed into a live broadcast internet show on the precursor to Twitch.
After several years, FilmSnobbery relocated to Los Angeles and continued their coverage of independent film from a new studio location in North Hollywood.
The landscape of film criticism has changed so much in the last fifteen years, especially financially. This caused us to shutter the site in 2019.
In 2022, we came back stronger than ever with a new look, a book about indepedent film marketing written by the site’s founder, Nic LaRue, and more. We look forward to continuing to interact with our audience and being The Voice for Indie Film for as long as we are able.
