Riveting Documentary “The Red Pill” Explores Timely Cultural Divide Between Genders

 

(LOS ANGELES, CA—September 22, 2016)  Acclaimed filmmaker Cassie Jaye (“Daddy I Do” & “The Right to Love: An American Family”) documents the mysterious and polarizing world of the Men’s Rights Movement, in her latest film “The Red Pill.” Giving viewers a visceral and honest look into the activism of both genders, “The Red Pill”challenges the audience to pull back the veil, question societal norms, and expose themselves to an alternate perspective on gender equality, power, and privilege.  Jaye Bird Productions will debut the film theatrically beginning in New York on October 7,2016, and in Los Angeles on October 14, 2016.

 

The film chronicles Cassie Jaye’s meetings with the most influential and polarizing men’s rights activists and advocates (MRAs) of today, including: Dr. Warren Farrell, author ofThe Myth Of Male Power; Paul Elam, founder of A Voice for Men; Harry Crouch, President of the National Coalition For Men; and Erin Pizzey, founder of the first women’s shelter in the UK. The film also features rebuttals by leaders and scholars within the modern day feminist movement, including: Katherine Spillar, Executive Editor of Ms. Magazine and Executive Director of the Feminist Majority Foundation; Dr. Michael Kimmel, renowned sociologist specializing in gender studies and author of Angry White Men; andMichael Messner, Gender Studies Professor at the University of Southern California.

 

There will be a Q&A following the 6:15pm screenings at NYC’s Cinema Village on October 7, 8, and 9 with Cassie Jaye (director) and special guests on select nights: Karen Straughan (cast), Dr. Michael Kimmel (cast), Fred Hayward (cast), Kristal Garcia(cast), Tom Golden (cast), Alison Tieman (cast), Suzanne Venker (author), and Tim Goldich (author). There will be a Q&A following the 7pm screenings at LA’s Laemmle Noho 7 theater on October 14, 15, 16, and 20 with Cassie Jaye (director) and special guests on select nights: Paul Elam (cast), Dr. Warren Farrell (cast), Fred Hayward (cast), Harry Crouch (cast), Marc Angelucci (cast), Darrah De Jour (cast), Sage Gerard (cast), andLloyd Schofield (cast).
