Part 2 of the Idville Collection brought to you by King is A Fink Productions, “Libidoland” is a short (15 minutes) film about sexual fetish gone wrong with a comedic twist. Julie Keck and Jessica King direct Beth Ivy and Andrew Lindsay as couple Reed and Leilah. Leilah and Reed are living out a dominatrix fantasy which leads to Reed being tied up (his hands bound and neck put in a noose) in their closet while Leilah goes out to get some shopping done. While she’s gone Reed has various sex related dreams about Leilah in several scenarios as she goes about her day. This leads to Reed accidentally hanging himself only to be rescued at the last moment by Leilah when she gets home.

Visually speaking, aside from a bit of grain from the DV camera, and a couple of misframed shots the movie is a really funny (and somewhat explicit look) at the lengths some people will go to for pleasure, and what happens when common sense isn’t so common. The score written and performed by Jeremy Price and Dan Querfeld is light and amusing just like the film, and is definitely a good pairing. The two leads Beth and Andrew have great chemistry (something that I’m seeing as a trend in King is A Fink Production movies). If you have a quick half hour or so, picking up “Libidoland” and the other half of the Idville Collection “Anxiety Acres” will give you a quick comedic jolt with a bit of heart thrown in as well.
